2 out of 5 stars Great, except for the microscope camera!   July 11, 2010

Personally I really love C&C games. I got my first games console, an original Playstation after playing retaliation and am currently almost addicted to Tiberium Wars: Kanes Wrath, however, I could not enjoy this game. Don't get me wrong, some of the concepts are brilliant, and if I was going to rate it on content and quality of content then it would be a 5. The units are very cool, (transforming etc), the idea of floating bases etc. Some of the actors are at least B list, which is nice, and what we've come to expect from the series. The thing that really lets the game down is the camera. It is massively zoomed in, and you can't zoom out far enough to see enough of the action to enjoy the game. The designers said that they were focussing a lot on micromanagement. Certainly if you're used to Supreme Commander style RTS then this will be a shock to your system. The camera on the last few games is fine for me, but this is ridiculous. It makes it very hard to get a good idea of what is going on around your battlefield. This release gets a couple of points for the content, as I say, really funny in parts, as you'd expect, and the graphics are awesome, along with the units. Blatantly a lot of thought has gone into the game, and I'm given to understand that the expansion pack is great from a friend who really likes the game. However, it doesn't get any more than 2 for me, as a result of the awful, micromanagement encouraging, zoomed in camera. Sorry EA, I think you've let Westwood down on this one.

Not us good as the earlier games. They have over complicated it. Should have kept to the simple but fun format of the previous versions.
