The Russians are coming... July 28, 2010 Alan Good fun with good graphics if your PC is up to the job. Need at least 3gb RAM and 512mb graphics card to run this well though. Runs fine on Vista.
One of the best games I've ever played! June 21, 2010 J. J. Pranczk I have played a fair share of games but this one I found extremely engaging. So much so that I have spent about 10 hours playing it when I was supposed to do other stuff. Do not play it when you have something important to do! ;)
Now I wanted a great game that would offer me full 3D battlefield environment with lots of interesting ways of killing stuff and I got it. After about 6 hours of getting used to it in singleplayer I have done almost half the missions. Brilliant fun!
Beware though that updates and maps for this game are massive and update 11 is about 430 MB so lots of downloading. But when its done Multiplayer is just perfect, little lag lots of fun.
It can lag sometimes with lots of smoke and tanks and stuff on screen but thats a minor issue.
Overall I am very happy with it!
P.S. it shipped from Canada - just saying, its a loong way for 2 days of transit.

Change the way you fight RTS April 9, 2010 G. Metra I really like RTS games but this one brings a new way of challenging you opponent through a new interface and army deployment.
Go for it!
A well crafted, intelligent and fun 'what if' romp... April 7, 2010 J. Sadler (Newcastle, U.K.) I had downloaded World in Conflict as a demo initially and enjoyed the large scale of the battles which still had a high level of detail when you zoom in to battlefield level, almost like a modern day version of the total war series. However, there are significant differences from the total war series a major example of which are your fire support options, these allow you to call in airstrikes and artillery fire. These effects look amazing and the smoke effects are some of the most convincing I have seen in a video game. Another differece from the total war series is that you regularly have to take and hold specific positions on the map to produce defensive structures, this can sometimes be quite annoying as it reduces your strategic options as you often have to spread out your troops over the ground specified and then point and clinck on the oncomming enemy forces whilst trying to maintain your own troops. This being said however I can also be see that this would probably be some of the major issues with actual command of a force, I would suggest this idea needs some development though.
When you play the full game the story supporting the gameplay is fantastic and really helps to immerse you in the game, particularly if you have the complete edition with the Soviet expansion pack . When I first began to play the game I was confused as to where to pick my faction and thought that I had only bought the soviet missions however the developers have done something I had not seen before which is to intersperse the expansion pack's missions within the games original storyline, to stop you from discovering any spoilers.
Therefore in summary, this is a must buy for any RTS player, the graphics are excellent, the gameplay sometimes challenging and the story hold your attention, My only criticism is that it is quite short and could do with the addition of some more units, not the a scale of Red Alert 3 but certainly some naval units and non special-power aeroplanes would be a major plus.
Good work Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment!
