5 out of 5 stars A cheesy edition of the best selling board game   August 6, 2009

The game on PC is much faster with no messy money. The fun sounds are also constantly keeping you entertained with a pun on every roll. For some reason 7 is lucky.

The maths is all done by a big computer brain however this brain gets confused with morgages - its just like the banks. Otherwise all you need is a mouse. It works on most Vista systems too.

Amazon is also the last place you can buy the proper, non pirate game as Game stopped selling them. And remember - you can choose to use Euros on the New Edition just in-case in 5 years time.

5 out of 5 stars I found this game to be very good! Works on Windows Vista   February 5, 2008

I found this game to be very good indeed, the tokens are interestingly voice, and they are animated as they move around the board.

I think that it is great, dispite all of the previous reviews, I think you should deffiantly buy this game.

A draw back may be that it can look a bit dull without a decent graphics card, since my laptop was unable to run the animations, but the PC I'm on atm works fine!

A modern remake of the classic game, including european game boards, including British, it wouldn't be monopoly without it.

Highly recommendable.

3 out of 5 stars Never as good as the real thing, Not bad yet not great.   September 3, 2007

Well i had the original pc game made by the guys who made the red alert series and that was fantastic as that version didnt make you feel cheated like this one does. The game does have some redeeming features though with some nice animations etc.

The Ai makes the whole thing bitter sweet, cause i have a sneaky suspicion that the computer cheats and i end up paying taxes through the nose all the flipping while. Plus the character voices will grate after a while, So in a nutshell....

Get the board game variaint, its miles better.

3 out of 5 stars Monopoly without the fun   April 8, 2007

Monopoly is one of my favourite games and I consider it the best board game ever made.
I found this New Edition cheap for the PC,so I thought I would give it a go. I thought it would be ideal since I could play against a computer opponent. The game graphics do look OK with the board looking good and some nice animated effects when the tokens move. I do find it becomes repetitive fairly quickly because I get the feeling the computer Cheats. The computer player seems to get all of the luck and I seem to end up paying all the fines with little chance to buy property. Yes, this does happen sometimes when playing the actual board game, but not in every game played lol. Then there's the annoying repeat voices, which really grates after sometime. It's not exactly awful, but it's flawed taking the fun out of playing.
